Role of the Maid of Honour or Matron of Honour
Pays
for her own attire, attends all fittings.

go with the Bride to help her pick out her wedding gown and the Bridesmaids'
attire if asked.
May host the bachelorette party and/or a bridal shower alone or with
the other Bridesmaids. Helps with buck and doe if having one.
Attend
all events for the Bride. At showers read cards and/or record gifts
for Bride to make thank you cards.
Attend the rehearsal
to get familiarized with the wedding ceremony proceedings and seating
arrangements.
Attend the rehearsal
dinner.
Gives gift to wedding
couple.
Helps the Bride dress for the ceremony if needed.
Is
ready for photographer at least 2 hours before wedding ceremony. Helps
Bride be ready on time.
Helps
arrange the Bride’s veil and train before and after she walks
down the aisle.
Carries
a bouquet of flowers during wedding ceremony.
Holds the Bride's bouquet during the ceremony.
May hold the Groom's ring until the ring exchange in the ceremony if
needed.
Signs the marriage licence as a witness.
Is Escorted by
the Best Man throughout the ceremony and wedding day as needed. Dances
with him at the wedding reception during the song for the wedding party.
Makes a toast to the Bride and Groom at the reception.
Helps the Bride bustle her gown, remove her veil, and get ready for
the reception.
May be required
to stand in receiving line.
Sits at head table
at the wedding reception.
May
do other introductions at the reception if needed.
Has pictures taken
with wedding party.
Help
the Bride change into her going away clothes if needed.
Help with set-up
and decorating if needed.
Help
with clean up after the wedding reception if needed.
Makes sure the
Bride's going away clothes and bag for honeymoon are brought to place
of reception.
Helps Bride and
Groom wherever needed before during and after wedding day.
