The Role of Father of the Groom

  • Meet with Bride's parents and your spouse to discuss the wedding budget and number of wedding guests invited. It's best if this is not your first meeting.
  • Helps spouse provide the couple with requested wedding guests list. Be sure to stay within the number of guests to ask. Help the Bride by giving full names, addresses and postal codes.
  • Helps with wedding plans as asked.
  • May help with financial cost of wedding.
  • Host the wedding rehearsal dinner for wedding party, spouses and parents.
  • Maybe required to stand in the wedding receiving line.
  • Give special wedding gift to couple from you and your spouse.
  • Help with introductions throughout wedding day.
  • Buy or rent suit for wedding attire.
  • Attend all parties for the Groom.
  • Make a speech at the reception.
  • Has pictures taken with wedding couple.
  • Help the Bride and Groom whenever asked. Be open and flexible with suggestions.
  • Dance with your new daughter-in-law at the reception.
  • Help with set-up and decorating if needed.
  • Help with clean up after the wedding reception if needed.
  • Enjoy the day and its process.
  • Offer your love, support and blessing during and after the wedding.
